Job summary

Chetham's School of Music in Manchester seeks an outstanding Choral Tutor to lead our renowned vocal and choral ensembles, Chetham's Voices, and support young musicians’ artistic growth.

You will deliver high-quality coaching, lead rehearsals, and contribute to the holistic education of talented students aged 8-18. The role offers a competitive hourly rate, with term-time lunches provided and concert tickets.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring musician with a strong track record in choral direction, vocal ensemble leadership and music education. The successful candidate will work with talented young musicians aged 8-18, leading our acclaimed vocal and choral ensembles, Chetham's Voices, and supporting students' musical and personal development.

About the Role

• Lead and develop Chetham's vocal and choral ensembles.
• Deliver high-quality group coaching and ensemble rehearsals.
• Support the holistic musical education of exceptionally talented young people.
• Work with students to an advanced level in medium and large ensembles.

Hours

• Part-time.
• Approximately 1.5 hours per week for six rehearsal weeks as a Spring project, plus performances.
• Current rehearsal time: Tuesdays, 5.00pm-6.30pm.
• Additional teaching opportunities may be available throughout the year.
• Hours may increase in future years and vary according to student numbers and programme requirements.
