The Job

Interpreting involves listening, understanding, and accurately reproducing content from the source language into the target language.

You will:

• Interpret for people using legal, health, and local government services
• Check the understanding of non-English speakers after each sentence
• Provide conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
• Handle highly confidential information
• Liaise between service users and providers

Requirements

• Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese
• Legal right to work in the UK
• Age 21 or over
• Qualifications such as:
• Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI)
• Community Interpreting
• NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registration (advantageous)
• Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
• Other interpreting-related qualifications
• Flexible schedule and ability to work from home
• Self-motivated and proactive
• Ongoing support and professional development provided
