Job summary

Randstad Care is seeking a Children’s Support Worker to provide compassionate, trauma-informed support to young people in residential or community settings. You will work with carers and multidisciplinary teams to create safe, stable environments and document progress regularly.

Qualifications

  • 12 months UK care experience in children’s residential care, CAMHS, or complex youth outreach required.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle.
  • Full UK Right to Work (visa sponsorship is not available).
  • Genuine passion for making young people feel safe, heard and cared for.

Responsibilities

  • Support children with a therapeutic, compassionate approach in residential care or community packages.
  • Use PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) to help de-escalate and validate emotions.
  • Assist young people with mental health challenges, SEMH needs, and social integration.
  • Keep accurate daily records using the Clear Care platform and manage your calendar via the Randstad Scheduler app.

Job description

Role: Childrens Support Worker

For a child who has experienced trauma or disruption, having reliable adults who listen, understands, and doesn't walk away can change everything. If you have the patience, empathy and resilience to support children through their toughest days, Randstad wants to support you.

We work hand-in-hand with children's residential homes and community support teams in across South Wlaes. We know how vital your role is, and we make sure you get the consistent work, fair pay, and respect you deserve.

What Your Days Will Look Like
  • Supporting Children with a therapeutic, compassionate approach, supporting young people living in residential care or in community packages.
  • Use PACE principles (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) to help children de-escalate, process difficult emotions, and feel secure.
  • Support young people with mental health challenges, SEMH needs, and social integration.
  • Keep accurate daily records using the "Clear Care" platform and take full control of your working calendar using the Randstad Scheduler app.
What We Ask from You
  • A minimum of 12 months of UK care experience in children's residential care, CAMHS, or complex youth outreach. (Experienced adult care workers with a strong background in complex needs and trauma-informed support are also encouraged to apply).
  • A full UK driving license and personal vehicle.
  • Full UK Right to Work (we cannot provide visa sponsorship).
  • A genuine passion for making young people feel safe, heard, and cared for.
