Job summary

Cambian Group Plc is seeking a Senior Support Worker to join our Children's Residential team in the South West. You will lead shifts, support young people aged 8-18 with complex needs, and help deliver high-quality care in a residential setting.

The role offers a competitive hourly rate (£14.17–£14.99), training and development, 28 days holiday, pensions, and on-shift meals and parking. A full UK driving licence and Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK driving licence.
• Desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• 12 months senior experience in a Residential setting is highly desirable; applications from those starting their journey are encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager where required.
• Ensuring team members complete mandatory learning and develop professionally.
• Maintain accurate written records and care plans to enable monitoring and evaluation.

Children's Residential Senior Support Worker

Shift Pattern: 16>24 Hour (including Sleep-in) on a one on two off or two on four off basis.

Of-course - no day is the same here at the Cambian Group, however here is what a day in the life of one of ourSenior Support Workerscould look like:

• Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager where required
• Ensuring that our incredible team of Residential Care Workers are up to date with all mandatory learning and assisting with their individual development
• Communicating with the on-site team and raising awareness with regards to individual care plans and their implementationMaintaining accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets and files both to record information and enable regular monitoring and evaluation to take place
• Contributing to team and staff meetings to facilitate good communication and staff development
• Providing support and care to the young people within our services
• Encouraging our young people in their preparation to re-enter education or to engage in their current schooling
• Traveling with our young people to and from School or College
• Preparing food at meal times and maintaining the home (cleaning, laundry etc.) throughout the day to ensure a wonderful environment for the young people in our care
• Organising and facilitating social activities

Requirements:

• Must hold a full UK driving licence
• Must have the desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent Children & Younger Peoples workforce
• 12 months senior experience working in a Residential setting is highly desirable but we do also encourage applications from those at the start of their journey
• Requirements for DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
