Are you a support worker looking for a full-time, permanent opportunity to work with young people who live in a residential home that is based in Erdington?

Highbridge Resourcing are recruiting for a passionate and reliable Support Worker who has a passion to work with children and young people (aged 8-18 years). You must have previous experience of working with children and young people in a supporting capacity, ideally within a residential environment.

Our client is an independent provider of childrens homes and support services for children and young people. It offers therapeutic care and support to vulnerable children and young people from across the West Midlands with emotional/behavioural needs.

The full-time role is 37.5 hours a week.

There is shift work involved Monday to Sunday and you will be required to undertake sleep in duties. Shifts are 10am-10pm with a sleep in and finishing at 10am the next morning.

Sleep in duties equate to approximately 8 a month.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to children in a residential setting, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
• Maintain accurate records of children's progress and behavior, and communicate effectively with team members and families.
• Implement individualized care plans and participate in team meetings to discuss strategies for improvement.
• Hold a valid driving license to transport children as needed for appointments and activities. (ESSENTIAL)
• Uphold NVQ standards in all aspects of care and support provided.
  
  

Are you the person we are looking for? Do you have the following....

• A passion and desire to work with children and young people
• Level 3 Children and Young People's Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working in a social care setting with children
• A car with a clean driving license (desirable)
• Patience, empathy and understanding
• Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to record data accurately.
• The ability to work flexible working hours which includes evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep in duties.
• A clean and enhanced DBS with no convictions or cautions.
