Job summary

Advantage Healthcare is recruiting for a Children’s Complex Care Assistant to join our team in Bolton. You’ll receive full training and clinical support to develop skills in complex care for a child with neurological development delays and self-harming behaviours, including PEG feeding and medication support.

Shifts available: Afternoon 3 pm – 9 pm and Waking Nights 9 pm – 7 am. The role offers opportunities for career progression within City & County Healthcare Group, with equal opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience working with children will be beneficial.
• Willingness to work night and day.
• Outgoing and capable of building rapport with a non-verbal child who communicates by finger and eye movements.

Responsibilities

• Join as a Children’s Complex Care Assistant with full training and clinical support.
• Develop and enhance skills in complex care for a child with neurological development delays and self-harming behaviours.
• Support PEG feeding and regular medications, helping to avoid self-harm situations.
• Provide companionship and support with home life activities and family interaction.

Job Description

What you’ll do

This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your current skill base and join us as a Children’s Complex Care Assistant. You will have full training and clinical support to develop and enhance skills in various complex areas and with this particular child who has a Neurological condition leading to Global Development and Neurological Development delays and Self Harming behaviours. Our client has a PEG feed, needs regular medication and support to help with avoiding situation leading to self harm. They enjoy time at home in the garden, playing football and spending time with their family.

Qualifications

Experience working with children will be beneficial.

Ability to work night and days

Social and outgoing person

Can build a rapport with a young person who is non verbal but communicates using finger and eye movements.
