Job summary

Brandon Trust in Clevedon is seeking caring Children’s Support Workers for waking night shifts. You will provide overnight, person-centred support to children and young people aged 5–18, following individual plans and ensuring a safe, respectful environment.

Full training is provided, with a 7-day rota including weekends. A full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK are required; DBS checks and references apply.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalised overnight support for children aged 5–18.
  • Assist with evening routines and settling the child for bed.
  • Support during night-time routines and respond to individual needs.
  • Administer medication where required and assist with personal care.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete documentation.
  • Support wellbeing, safety and dignity throughout the night.
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and professionals.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and care procedures.
  • Work as part of a team and communicate across shifts.

About the Role

We're looking for caring and committed Children's Support Workers to join our Clevedon team, supporting children and young people aged 5–18 during waking night shifts.

The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality, person-centred overnight support that respects each child's views, wishes and individuality. You'll help create a safe, calm and reassuring environment throughout the night, ensuring children and young people feel secure, listened to and supported.

Working alongside children and young people, you'll support their wellbeing and independence by following personalised support plans and responding to individual needs overnight. This may include supporting evening and morning routines, administering medication where required, and providing personal care in a respectful and dignified way. Full training will be provided.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Providing personalised overnight support tailored to each child's individual needs, preferences and goals
  • Supporting children and young people with evening routines, settling for the night and morning routines where required
  • Promoting wellbeing, comfort and safety throughout the night
  • Supporting with personal care, medication and health-related needs where required
  • Maintaining accurate records and completing relevant documentation
  • Responding positively and confidently to changing support needs overnight
  • Building positive relationships with children, families and professionals
  • Following safeguarding, health and safety, and care procedures at all times
  • Working as part of a supportive team and contributing to effective communication between shifts

Support is provided across a 7-day rota, including weekends.

A Level 3 Childcare qualification is desirable, or a willingness to work towards one.
