Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Therapy Assistant (AfC Band 3) to provide physiotherapy and occupational therapy support for preschool and school-age children. The post sits within the Children’s Services Directorate and collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team.

The role includes caseload management, clinics support, and contributing to health promotion and equitable care for children and families across Cumbria.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with IT.
• Experience of working as part of a team.
• Awareness of standards for record keeping.
• Knowledge of physiotherapy/occupational therapy for children.
• Experience with children in health, education or care settings.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy services for pre-school and school-age children.
• Manage a delegated caseload under supervision.
• Assist therapists in clinics (e.g., wheel-chair, orthotics, child development).
• Provide administration and clerical support for the therapy team.
• Promote health and reduce inequalities for children, families and communities.
