Job summary

Our client in the Reading area is recruiting a Children’s Support Worker for day and night shifts in an EBD home. The role requires a Diploma Level 3 in Children & Young People Workforce or NVQ equivalent, plus experience with young people with EBD.

You will support the deputy manager, supervise carers, and coordinate care plans and MDT meetings on site to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.

Qualifications

• Diploma Level 3 in Children & Young People Workforce or NVQ equivalent is required.
• Experience working with young adults with EBD is essential.
• Knowledge of Quality Standards & Regulations and of the Children Act is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the deputy manager to meet the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose and uphold the organisation's values.
• Assist and manage the care team to meet the needs of Children and Young People.
• Undertake direct work with Children and Young People as appropriate and ensure shifts are planned with allocated resources.
• Work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes.
• Provide supervision and support to carers in line with Quality Standards & Regulations and as directed by the Registered Manager.
• Promote MDT approach and lead weekly MDT meetings with Clinical and Education services on site.
• Ensure each care plan is understood by carers and implemented; participate in childcare reviews and planning meetings.
• Chair children’s meetings, facilitate consultations, and maintain accurate records for monitoring and evaluation.
