  • A rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference to children’s lives

Could you help make an ordinary day feel extraordinary?

Sometimes it is the smallest things that make the biggest difference: sharing a laugh, helping a young person learn a new skill, celebrating progress or simply being there when they need someone they can trust.

We are looking for a compassionate, patient and dependable Child Support Worker to provide safe, nurturing and consistent care to children and young people.

This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who wants more than “just a job”. You will have the opportunity to build positive relationships, create meaningful experiences and help young people develop their confidence, independence and everyday living skills.

No two days will be the same – but every day will matter.

What will you be doing?

As a Child Support Worker, you will:

  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.

  • Provide attentive care and support, keeping children safe and promoting their wellbeing.

  • Support daily routines, personal care and everyday living activities based on each child’s individual needs.

  • Organise enjoyable and meaningful activities that encourage learning, independence and social development.

  • Support children with their emotional development through positive interaction, reassurance and clear boundaries.

  • Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and agreed support strategies.

  • Support children to attend appointments, education and activities.

  • Transport children safely when required.

  • Maintain clear and accurate records of progress, behaviour, incidents and significant events.

  • Work closely with colleagues, families and other professionals involved in the child’s care.

  • Promote children’s rights, choices and participation in decisions about their lives.

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive home environment.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of working with or supporting children and young people.

  • Is caring, patient, empathetic and able to remain calm when situations become challenging.

  • Can communicate effectively with children, families, colleagues and professionals.

  • Understands the importance of consistency, safeguarding and professional boundaries.

  • Can follow care plans and provide support based on individual needs.

  • Has good organisational skills and can manage different responsibilities.

  • Is comfortable using IT systems to complete records and reports.

  • Is willing to take part in training, supervision and ongoing development.

  • Holds a valid driving licence and is able to transport children when required.

  • Has a genuine passion for helping children grow, develop and achieve.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who will show up, listen, care and keep going – even on the more challenging days.

Ready to make a difference?

If you can bring patience, positivity, reliability and a sense of humour, we would love to hear from you.
