Job summary

Torbay Council is recruiting Social Workers to join its Children’s Services teams, including Assessment & Intervention, Care Proceedings and Cared For Teams. You will work across safeguarding, court work, care planning and permanence planning, helping children and families achieve positive outcomes.

We promote relationship-based, restorative practice with manageable caseloads and strong development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
• ASYE completed and at least two years post-qualification in children's social care.
• Experience managing risk and planning for children.
• Ability to work within statutory safeguarding frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Assessments and child protection planning.
• Care proceedings and PLO work with courts.
• Support Cared For children with permanence planning.
• Engage with families using relationship-based practice.
