Job summary

Leaders in Care is recruiting a Children’s Social Worker at Level 2/3 for the South Coast, handling frontline statutory assessments and safeguarding duties. You’ll manage referrals from start to closure, collaborate with families and networks, and contribute to safeguarding decisions in a dynamic local authority setting.

Role offers permanent, full-time and part-time opportunities with induction, supervision, and clear career progression. Travel across the local area is required.

Qualifications

• Significant frontline safeguarding Social Work experience.
• Experience managing complex referrals and statutory children’s casework.
• Strong assessment, analysis and decision-making skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships while offering professional challenge.
• Excellent conflict-resolution and communication skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development.
• Experience mentoring colleagues or students; interest in Practice Education training.
• Social Work England registration.
• Ability to travel across the local area.

Responsibilities

• Managing referrals and complex safeguarding concerns
• Undertaking initial single assessments and continuous assessments
• Leading and contributing to family network meetings
• Completing robust analysis, risk assessments and clear recommendations
• Making decisions on case closure, step-down or transfer to longer-term services
• Working collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure coordinated support
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced colleagues and students, particularly at Level 3
