Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Permanent opportunity with a local authority in Knowsley. You will lead a Children’s Social Care team, providing supervision and governance to ensure high-quality safeguarding, care planning and outcomes for children.

Role requires Social Work qualification, SW England registration, and significant Children’s services experience. You’ll drive performance, manage complex cases and collaborate with partners to improve services.

Qualifications

• Social Work Qualification required and registration with Social Work England.
• Significant frontline experience in Children’s Social Care and Child Protection services.
• Strong knowledge of Children Act, safeguarding procedures, care planning and court processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a Children’s Social Care team with regular supervision.
• Oversee safeguarding, child protection decisions and timely care planning.
• Manage caseloads, monitor assessments and ensure quality assurance.
• Drive service improvement using performance data and project work.
• Represent the service in partnerships and meetings with stakeholders.
• Ensure governance, policy compliance and value for money.
