Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is recruiting a Transformation and Commissioning Officer to join the Children’s Strategy, Transformation and Commissioning team on a full-time, permanent basis. You will help shape child-centred services across early help, social care, education and health, supporting projects through the full commissioning cycle.

You will work collaboratively with health, education, social care and voluntary partners, turning insights into practical recommendations and business cases

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with experience in interpreting data and driving service improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, producing clear reports and recommendations.
• Confident relationship-building, consultation and influencing across teams and partners.
• Proactive, organized and resilient with the ability to manage a complex workload and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support small to medium-sized projects within wider transformation programmes, ensuring activity is well planned and aligned with priorities.
• Contribute across the commissioning cycle, including needs analysis, market research, procurement, mobilisation and contract monitoring.
• Analyse qualitative and quantitative information to produce reports, business cases and recommendations.
• Build relationships with internal teams, providers and partners across health, education, social care and the voluntary sector.
• Coordinate co-production and engagement so that children, young people and families inform service design.
• Monitor contracts, provider performance, risks and actions to ensure high-quality, value-for-money services.
