Job summary

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Commissioning Officer within the Children & Young People Services to plan, develop and monitor commissioned children’s services. The role focuses on using data and market intelligence to support decisions and contract quality, with hybrid working on offer.

You will engage providers and partners across social care, education, health, finance and procurement, ensuring value for money and high-quality service delivery for children and young people.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills with data interpretation.
• Ability to translate information into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Experience liaising with providers and partners across sectors.
• DBS check completed and enhanced clearance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all stages of the commissioning cycle, working with Commissioning Managers.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with providers and partners.
• Monitor service quality, performance and value.
• Gather, analyse and present data and intelligence to inform decisions.
• Support contract monitoring and provider engagement.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency and service improvement.
• Provide constructive challenge to drive high-quality service delivery.
• Use data, market intelligence and stakeholder engagement to support informed decisions and quality assurance.
