Job summary

The Cambian Group is seeking a Registered Manager for a 4-bed children’s complex care home in Wisbech. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, develop Tailored care plans, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive high-quality outcomes for young people.

We offer a salary up to £55,000 DOE, a £5,000 welcome bonus on registration, a £5,000 annual quality and commercial bonus, and access to leadership development and our in-house academy to grow your leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Passionate about making the difference to the lives of young people in care.
• At least 2 years in residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to start within 6 months).
• Knowledge of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
• Efficient in planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
• Confident in spoken and written communication.
• Understanding trauma and needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.

Responsibilities

• Develop Comprehensive Care Plans tailored to each young person’s needs.
• Develop a great team by recruiting and retaining staff for consistency.
• Foster consultation with young people about their care.
• Allocate Key Workers to implement care plans.
• Maintain high standards aligned with National Minimum Standards and the Home’s SOP.
• Handle complaints and safeguarding concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with parents, carers and professionals for welfare.
• Attend care planning and review meetings as appropriate.
• Maintain a safe culture and ensure best possible care.
• Manage the home in line with budget expectations.

As a Registered Manager our expectation is that your home will be rated as at least “Good” by Ofsted

This is a 4 bed Children’s Complex Care Ofsted rated GOOD home where you will:

• Develop Comprehensive Care Plans: Ensure each young person has a tailored plan that addresses their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
• Develop a great team: Working with the recruitment teams support, bring in the right people for your home to ensure your success.Complete company induction and personal development plans, retaining a strong team to ensure familiar faces for the young people.
• Foster Consultation: Develop systems to consult young people about the care they receive.
• Allocate Key Workers: Assign a Key Worker to each young person to implement their childcare plan.
• Maintain High Standards: Establish and monitor high-quality care standards in line with National Minimum Standards and the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
• Handle Complaints and Concerns: Take responsibility for addressing any complaints or child protection concerns.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
• Participate in Meetings: Attend and contribute to child care planning and review meetings as appropriate.
• Embrace a safe culture: Ensure the children in your service are cared for at the best possible standard.
• Effective Commercial Management of your home:Ensure you manage your home aligned to budget expectations.

Essential Requirements and Experience

• Passionate about making the difference to the lives of young people in care.
• Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
• Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to start within 6 months of employment.
• Knowledge: Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.

• Communication: Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.
• Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
