Job summary

The Cambian Group seeks a Children’s Registered Manager to reopen a two-bed home in Kingskerswell. You will lead a compassionate, capable team to deliver tailored care to young people, ensuring safety, quality and strong Ofsted readiness.

The role offers flexible working, comprehensive induction, and Leadership Academy development, with bonuses tied to performance and company success.

Qualifications

• Passionate about improving lives of young people in care.
• 2+ years in residential care with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
• Knowledge of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive care plans and ensure each young person has tailored support.
• Build and retain a strong home team through recruitment, induction and development.
• Foster consultation with young people and allocate Key Workers to implement care plans.
• Maintain high standards in line with the Home’s Statement of Purpose and regulatory requirements.
• Handle complaints and safeguarding concerns, collaborating with parents and professionals.

In this two bedroom

Children’s Home you will:

• Develop Comprehensive Care Plans: Ensure each young person has a tailored plan that addresses their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
• Develop a great team: Working with the recruitment teams support, bring in the right people for your home to ensure your success. Complete company induction and personal development plans, retaining a strong team to ensure familiar faces for the young people.
• Foster Consultation: Develop systems to consult young people about the care they receive.
• Allocate Key Workers: Assign a Key Worker to each young person to implement their care plan.
• Maintain High Standards: Establish and monitor high-quality care standards in line with the quality standards and the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
• Handle Complaints and Concerns: Take responsibility for addressing any complaints or child protection concerns.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
• Participate in Meetings: Attend and contribute to care planning and review meetings as appropriate.
• Embrace a safe culture: Ensure the children in your service are cared for at the best possible standard.
• Effective Commercial Management of your home: Ensure you manage your home aligned to budget expectations.

Essential Requirements and Experience

• Passionate about making the difference to the lives of young people in care.
• Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
• Qualifications: Level 3 in Children's Residential Care is essential. Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred at point of application, if not then you must be enrolled on the Level 5 within 6 months of starting in post.
• Knowledge: Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation
