National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Northern Ireland Hub in Belfast. You will provide direct services to children, families and carers within an inter‑agency framework, taking responsibility and working autonomously.
You will work across the NI services, including perinatal mental health support, sexual abuse recovery and domestic abuse programmes, with strong support from the team, manager and NSPCC colleagues.
Children's Services Practitioner
Every childhood is worth fighting for. This is our belief. It drives us. And it's the reason our Children's Services team push themselves to transform the lives of children and families. Within the NSPCC Northern Ireland Hub we're currently developing our local services offer as we want to meet the needs of children and young people, families and professionals in Northern Ireland.
And an exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified social worker to join the team based in Belfast and make a contribution that means everything!
As a practitioner with NSPCC you will provide direct services to children, families, carers or adults, working in an inter-agency context where activities can be complex and where there is a requirement to take responsibility and work autonomously.
We are currently offering three services to families in NI;
We are looking for a qualified social worker who is dynamic and enthusiastic, who is passionate about creating change and can represent the values and behaviours of NSPCC. Joining the team and engaging families in the services we offer here will be a fulfilling role for any qualified social worker.
Whilst we work within the challenges of safeguarding children you will be well supported by your colleagues, team manager and the wider structure of the NI Hub. You will also get an opportunity to work alongside professionals in the other areas in NSPCC; to widen your knowledge and skills as well as add quality to those other services i.e. NSPCC campaigns work, our schools service and our policy team. Delivery of these services also provides the opportunity to work with colleagues in other agencies, both statutory and voluntary. Full induction training is provided and we are committed to ongoing professional development.
Here at NSPCC we also offer an excellent family friendly policy and there is a good work-life balance experienced by staff.
Any one of our people will tell you that a huge reward in itself is making a difference to children's lives. But we know it's a competitive world, and it's important to feel valued in your role and receive more practical, tangible benefits. We offer salaries that are at least comparable with the top charities in the UK, as well as these benefits.
Still have questions about the role? For an informal conversation you can contact the office to speak to one of the practitioners, or email one of the team managers Irene McGettigan irene.mcgettigan@nspcc.org.uk
