Job summary

Sandwell Children’s Trust is seeking a Service Manager for the Children We Care For service on a 3-month fixed-term basis. You will lead a child-centred, plan-driven service and oversee workload management, supervision, and practice standards.

The role is hybrid with a focus on safeguarding and continuous improvement. You will drive multi-agency collaboration, ensure statutory duties are met, and support staff development while delivering strong outcomes for children and families.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker, Social Work England registered and enhanced DBS.
• Confident and inspirational leader with management experience in Children’s Services.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to handle complexity.
• Extensive knowledge of working with vulnerable children and statutory safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Lead the service in managing workloads with child-centred, permanence-focused planning and ensure staff supervision and practice standards are embedded.
• Coordinate multi-agency interventions, signposting and management with agreed standards for working with children and families; provide scrutiny, guidance, quality assurance and direction.
• Hold practitioners and managers to account for meeting standards of practice and driving performance through supervision, appraisal and transformation priorities.
