Job summary

SCR in Folkestone, United Kingdom, is seeking a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a children's home and provide trauma-informed care to young people who may have experienced complex trauma and challenging behaviours.

You will take a lead role on shift, build trusting relationships, support independence and life skills, and guide other staff while ensuring safeguarding, care plans and risk assessments are followed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a residential children’s setting is desirable.
• Experience supporting young people with complex trauma and challenging behaviours is desirable.
• Capable of leading a shift and supporting team members.
• Calm, resilient and able to provide consistent support under pressure.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Full UK driving licence is desirable.

About You

• Previous experience within a residential children's setting is desirable


• Experience supporting young people with complex trauma and challenging or complex behaviours is highly desirable.


• Confident taking responsibility for a shift and supporting other members of the team.


• Calm, resilient and able to provide consistent support in challenging situations.


• Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.


• Level 3 qualification in Children & Young People/Residential Care is desirable.


• Full UK driving licence is desirable.

Shift Pattern

This is a shift-based role and will include evenings, weekends and approximately 1 sleep-in per week
