Job summary

Candl Recruitment Ltd in Purley, South London, is recruiting a Residential Children's Support Worker to join a small 2-bed home for young people with emotional and behavioural needs. You will provide day-to-day care, help with routines and build trusting relationships.

This permanent role offers a supportive team, safeguarding and consistency, with opportunities to develop alongside the young people and gain experience in education and community activities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people, ideally within residential care, EBD or SEMH settings.
• Caring, patient and resilient approach.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting young people.
• The ability to work positively as part of a team.
• An understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.

• Supporting young people with their day-to-day routines, emotional wellbeing and personal development.
• Building positive, trusting relationships and providing consistent support.

• Supporting young people with education, activities and community engagement.
• Managing challenging situations calmly and using positive behaviour support strategies.
• Maintaining accurate daily records and following safeguarding procedures.
