Job summary

Whittington Health NHS Trust in Islington is seeking a Band 4 Children's Occupational Therapy Assistant to support therapists in clinics, schools and community settings. The role is part-time (22.5 hours per week) and based at the Northern Health Centre, Holloway Road.

You will work with children, under supervision, carrying out therapy activities, maintaining records, and helping with administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Training or short courses relevant to the post, eg autism awareness, child development.
• Formal qualifications relevant to role eg NVQ or degree in childcare, teaching, playwork, health.
• Experience working in a clinical role as a teaching assistant, therapy assistant or co‑worker.

Responsibilities

• Undertake specific individual or group programmes as assessed and directed by trained staff.
• Engage children in therapeutic activities to promote independence, safety and well‑being.
• Assist in the implementation of therapy interventions and organize clinic visits and schedules.
• Keep up to date records, liaise with families and other agencies, and maintain data confidentiality.
