Job summary

Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Children's Support Worker to cover waking night shifts in Caerleon, Newport. You will support children in their homes, promoting independence and wellbeing while ensuring safety and adherence to care plans.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of relevant experience, an empathetic and resilient nature, and a current Enhanced DBS check or the willingness to obtain one. This is a temporary/agency role with weekly pay and opportunities for training.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 months’ experience working with children or within a similar social care setting.
• Empathetic, caring, and resilient nature.
• Current Enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• The right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children and young people with their daily activities and interests.
• Promoting independence and overall wellbeing of the young people.
• Protecting children from risks to their health and welfare.
• Providing emotional and practical support within the home environment.
• Ensuring safety by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines.
• Managing challenging behaviour and helping to minimise incidents.
