Job summary

The Nova Group Solutions is partnering with a leading children's residential care provider to recruit a Residential Support Worker for a children’s home in Kent. You will provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people, helping create a safe, stable and nurturing environment where they feel listened to and supported.

We are seeking patient, dependable candidates with experience in residential care or similar settings, ideally with a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people in residential care, education, or similar settings.
• Relevant qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Understanding safeguarding and child-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Providing practical and emotional support in daily routines.
• Supporting young people to develop confidence, independence and life skills.
• Following individual care plans, placement plans and risk assessments.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and helping young people manage their emotions.
• Supporting education, hobbies, activities and contact with family where appropriate.
• Responding calmly and appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
• Keeping clear and accurate records, daily reports and handovers.
• Working closely with colleagues, managers, social workers, families and other professionals.
• Helping maintain a welcoming, safe and well-run home.
• Following safeguarding procedures and relevant children’s home standards.
