Job summary

Philia Care Ltd is seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a new residential children's home in England. You will oversee day-to-day operations, safeguarding, and service development to meet regulatory requirements and Ofsted standards.

You will shape policies, care planning, staff development and quality assurance while ensuring safe, high-quality care for children and smooth Ofsted preparations. The role focuses on building systems, culture, and compliance from the ground up.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in residential childcare within the last 5 years.
• Minimum 1 year's experience supervising or managing staff in a care role.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and practical implementation.
• Experience leading care teams and staff development.
• Good understanding of children's care planning, risk management and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the children's home and staff team.
• Ensure children receive safe, nurturing and high-quality care.
• Develop and implement the home's policies and procedures.
• Establish safeguarding, risk management and incident-reporting systems.
• Develop staff induction, training, supervision and appraisal processes.
• Support recruitment of a safe and competent staff team.
• Develop and maintain the Statement of Purpose and operational documentation.
• Establish recording, monitoring and quality assurance systems.
• Prepare the home for Ofsted registration and inspection.
• Maintain compliance with legislation, regulations and Ofsted requirements.
• Collaborate with social workers, placing authorities, families and professionals.
• Monitor children's progress, welfare and outcomes.
• Manage complaints, incidents, safeguarding concerns and notifications.
• Lead continuous improvement and embed learning from incidents and feedback.
