Job summary

Advantage Healthcare Limited in Preston is seeking a Children’s Complex Care Assistant. You will receive full training and clinical support to develop skills in complex care areas for a child with a neurological condition, PEG feeding, and risk of self-harm.

Shifts include afternoons and wake nights, with time at home and family. The role requires the ability to work day and night, build rapport with a non-verbal child who communicates by finger and eye movements, and to be social and outgoing.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is beneficial.
• Willingness to work night and day shifts.
• Social, outgoing personality.
• Ability to communicate with a non-verbal child using finger and eye movements.

Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity to enhance your current skill base and join us as a Children’s Complex Care Assistant. You will have full training and clinical support to develop and enhance skills in various complex areas and with this particular child who has a Neurological condition leading to Global Development and Neurological Development delays and Self Harming behaviours. Our client has a PEG feed, needs regular medication and support to help with avoiding situation leading to self harm. They enjoy time at home in the garden, playing football and spending time with their family.

Qualifications

Experience working with children will be beneficial.

Ability to work night and days

Can build a rapport with a young person who is non verbal but communicates using finger and eye movements.
