Job summary

Caritas Recruitment Limited is seeking a passionate Children’s Assistant Practitioner for the Central District Team in Oldham. You will support social workers, build relationships with children and families, and participate in multi-agency planning to promote safe, positive outcomes.

The role involves direct work with children, home visits, and documentation in line with local policies. A relevant degree in social work or related field is required, with emphasis on safeguarding and teamwork.

Qualifications

• A relevant degree or qualification in social work or a related field.
• Experience with children and families in a social work context.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding.
• Ability to work in a team and manage a caseload efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Assisting social workers in the assessment and planning processes for children and families.
• Building trusting relationships with children and their families to understand their needs and provide appropriate support.
• Conducting home visits and participating in multi-agency meetings to coordinate services.
• Documenting case notes and maintaining accurate records in accordance with local policies and procedures.
• Providing direct support to children through individual and group activities, including educational and recreational programs.
