Job summary

Keys Group Activity & Intervention is seeking a Children's Activity Based Support Worker for a live-in role in a specialist residential setting. You’ll live on-site during your 4 working days, with accommodation and meals provided, supporting young people aged 8–18.

You’ll lead outdoor activities such as climbing, kayaking and hiking, help develop life skills, and use trauma-informed approaches to support routines, confidence and independence.

Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Ability to participate in outdoor activities (climbing, kayaking, hiking, etc.).
  • Ability to work a live-in pattern (4 days on, 7 off).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and take part in outdoor activities (climbing, kayaking, hiking, biking).
  • Support young people through activity-based, structured care.
  • Build strong relationships as a positive role model.
  • Help develop life skills like cooking, budgeting, and daily routines.
  • Manage behaviour using calm, trauma-informed approaches.
  • Complete basic records and follow safeguarding processes.

Children's Activity Based Support Worker

Children’s Support Worker – Adventure & Activities

Location: Maer, ST5 (Full UK Driving Licence required due to remote setting)

Live-in role: 4 days on, 7 off, then 3 days on, 7 off (averaging 39 hours per week over the month).

About Keys Group Activity & Intervention:

This is not your typical care role. You’ll be based in aspecialist residential settingwhere you live on-site during your 4 working days (with accommodation and meals provided).

You’ll support young people aged8–18, helping them move away from challenging situations and develop positive routines, confidence, and independence.

Our programme combines care with adventure — from climbing and kayaking to mountain biking and hiking. You’ll play a key role in transforming lives, helping young people build resilience and create lasting positive change in a supportive, close-knit environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
