Job summary

Nudge Education Limited is seeking compassionate practitioners to deliver personalised 1:1 support to young people with SEN, SEMH or additional needs. This community-based role works beyond traditional classrooms to create engaging learning experiences.

You will deliver tailored sessions, build trusting relationships, monitor progress, and collaborate with families and professionals to ensure consistent support for vulnerable students.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Right to work in the UK; ability to commit to a minimum of three days per week for consistency.
  • Willingness to obtain business car insurance prior to commencing the role.
  • ASD experience.
  • Experience working with mental health issues.
  • Nurturing nature and compassionate approach.

Responsibilities

Around 90,000 young people across the UK are persistently absent from education each year. At Nudge Education, we support children and young people who are disengaged from education through tailored mentoring and interventions that help them reconnect, rebuild confidence, and thrive.

About the Role

We are looking for compassionate and adaptable practitioners to deliver personalised 1:1 support to young people with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs.

This is a community-based role, working beyond traditional classrooms to create safe, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences.

You will:

  • Deliver tailored intervention sessions
  • Build positive and consistent relationships with young people
  • Monitor progress and report safeguarding concerns
  • Complete risk assessments and maintain accurate records
  • Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and regional teams
Who We're Looking For

You may come from education, youth work, healthcare, social care, coaching, uniformed services, or other people-focused backgrounds.

We value empathy, resilience, creativity, and the ability to build trust with vulnerable young people.

Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience
  • Experience supporting young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Right to work in the UKAbility to commit to a minimum of three days' availability per week to provide consistency for our young people
  • Willingness to obtain business car insurance prior to commencing the role

Practicalities
  • Flexible opportunities based on location and student match
  • £19.57 to £28.83 per hour for lead roles, plus agreed expenses
  • Monday-Friday daytime and/or afternoon required
  • Consistent availability is essential to provide stability for young people
