Qualifications

• 5+ years' PQE in children's law (public and private).
• Experience handling complex care proceedings.

• Law Society Children Law Accreditation preferred.
• Legal Aid Agency Supervisor Status or working towards.
• Excellent case management and organisational skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.

Experienced Child Care Solicitor Opportunity in Bromsgrove

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Child Care Solicitor to join a well-established and highly regarded Family and Care Law team based in Bromsgrove. This role offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of public and private children law matters within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Our client is seeking a dedicated Solicitor with significant experience in children's law who is passionate about delivering exceptional client care and achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.

The Role

As a Child Care Solicitor, you will manage your own caseload of public and private children law matters, including complex care proceedings, while working closely with clients and colleagues within the department.

This is a highly client‑facing position requiring strong advocacy skills, excellent legal knowledge and the ability to provide sensitive and practical advice to clients during challenging circumstances.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of public and private children law matters
• Conducting complex care proceedings from instruction through to conclusion
• Representing clients in court and undertaking a high level of advocacy
• Providing clear, practical and empathetic legal advice to clients
• Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering excellent client care

Candidate Requirements

You will:

• Be a qualified Solicitor with 5+ years' PQE
• Have substantial experience in both public and private children law proceedings
• Demonstrate proven experience handling complex care cases
• Possess strong advocacy skills and be confident representing clients in court
• Ideally hold the Law Society Children Law Accreditation
• Ideally meet Legal Aid Agency Supervisor Status requirements or be actively working towards achieving them
• Be highly organised with excellent case management skills
• Have outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Be client-focused with a professional, approachable and reassuring manner
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Be comfortable working within compliance frameworks, policies and case management systems
