Job summary

Puro Associates in Leicester seeks a skilled Childcare Solicitor to join its family law team. The role involves advising and representing clients across a broad range of childcare proceedings, including EPOs, SGO, adoptions, and private law matters, with a strong emphasis on advocacy and client care.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years' PQE in childcare law, strong case management, and excellent communication. A panelling accreditation is advantageous.

Childcare Solicitor – Leicester
Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE
A well-established law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Childcare Solicitor to join its growing family law team in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven childcare lawyer looking to join a supportive team and take on a varied caseload, working on complex and rewarding matters involving children and families.

The Role

You will advise and represent clients across a broad range of childcare proceedings, including:

• Emergency Protection Orders (EPOs)
• Special Guardianship Orders
• Adoption matters
• Private law applications, including Rule 16.4 cases
• Separate representation of competent children
• Advocacy and representation at hearings

You will be expected to manage your own caseload effectively, provide clear and practical legal advice, and work with minimal supervision.

About You

• 5+ years' PQE in childcare law, although relevant experience will be considered
• Strong advocacy and case management experience
• Experience dealing with a broad range of public and private children matters
• Children's Panel accreditation, or be actively working towards accreditation, would be advantageous
• An established guardian following would be welcomed
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a wider team
• A compassionate and professional approach when dealing with sensitive matters
• A genuine commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and families
