Childcare Lead Educator | Durack Heights

Journey Early Learning is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate, and experienced Lead Educator to join our Durack Heights team in providing a safe and stimulating environment that meets the social, cultural, emotional, educational, and physical needs of children and encourages parent and community participation.

Centre Overview:

Our newer, purpose-built 66-place centre is a place where children aged from six weeks to six years can make a positive start to a life of learning, development, growth, and opportunity. Located on Packard Avenue, Durack, our centre features modern indoor and outdoor play environments that support learning in a stimulating, play-focused setting.

Engaging with the wider community, our centre participates in weekly incursions that promote new and enriching experiences. Our supportive and collaborative team celebrates achievements with monthly morning teas and lunches. We also offer a yearly roster with specific set shifts.

About the role:

This is a permanent part-time opportunity across Monday to Friday.

As our Lead Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and educational experiences for the children in our care.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure a high level of health & safety standards are maintained at all times
  2. Lead, develop, and implement engaging, high-quality educational programs
  3. Mentor and support educators to plan and deliver meaningful learning experiences
  4. Oversee and approve centre Storypark posts
  5. Foster a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that encourages exploration and creativity
  6. Provide constructive feedback to educators to promote continuous improvement and a culture of positive change
  7. Collaborate with families to ensure each child's learning journey is supported and enriched
About you:

You are a creative and inspired early childhood educator with a passion to lead and develop age-specific programs and routines. You will be a collaborative team member, working to build strong relationships with educators, children, and families.

Key skills and requirements:
  • Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or actively studying towards one.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis Certificates
  • Current Child Protection Training Certificate, or willingness to obtain
  • Approved working with children Check (state specific)
  • Demonstrated passion for nurturing the next generation of learners
  • Experience in leading curriculum development with a focus on play-based learning and holistic education
  • Strong written communication and literacy skills, with the ability to document and communicate educational progress effectively
  • An ability to provide feedback that fosters professional growth and a positive team culture
  • High-level time management skills to effectively balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
