Job summary

Brambles Outdoor Group Figheldean is offering a Level 2/3 Childcare Apprenticeship in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Shoots Training is seeking an enthusiastic apprentice to learn planning, activities, and child development under The Early Years Foundation Stage, in a nature-based setting.

You will gain hands-on experience with forest school-inspired learning, DBS clearance, and support from a friendly team. Hours are 25–38 per week; flexibility and commitment are valued.

Qualifications

• DBS clearance required.
• GCSE Maths and English (A*-C / 4-9) or equivalent, or willingness to work towards them.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and participate in activities to meet physical, intellectual and emotional needs of children and encourage language and social interaction.
• Observe, monitor and record each child’s development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
• Attend parent evenings/open days and communicate with parents about children's day-to-day needs.
• Learn to use the Famly App to record daily activities and progress for parents/carers.
• Support learning through play and help children acquire self-help skills (dressing, feeding, toilet training, hygiene).

Requirements

• You must be able to gain a clear DBS
• Preferably have GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English, or equivalent or willing to work towards them

Brambles Figheldean is set in the peaceful and picturesque village of Figheldean, nestled in the Avon Valley to the north of the historic town of Amesbury in Wiltshire.

Your duties and responsibilities will include

• To learn how to plan, prepare and participate in a range of activities that promote each child’s physical, intellectual, and emotional needs, and encourage linguistic and social interaction between the children and adults.
• To learn how to be responsible for a group of children, by observing, monitoring, and accurately recording each child’s development in line with the curriculum planning of ‘The Early Years Foundation Stage’.
• To attend parent evenings / open days as required, and learn to communicate with parents, carer{s} about the day-to-day needs of the children by fostering parental involvement and encouraging positive parenting skills.
• To learn how to use the Famly App as a tool to record children’s daily activities and progress and to use this to update parents/carers.
• To learn how to promote the philosophy of ‘learning through play’.
• To learn how to help children acquire self-help skills, including dressing, feeding, toilet training, and an awareness of personal hygiene.

Hours

• Brambles Outdoor Group Figheldeanis open from 07:30am- 17:30pm Monday to Friday
• The successful candidate will be required to work 25-38hours per week, working hours will be 08:00am-17:00pm.
