Job summary

LITTLE EINSTEIN DAY NURSERY LTD in Doncaster is seeking a motivated Level 3 Childcare Apprentice to join the Wheatley site. You will work with experienced staff to develop essential childcare skills while earning a recognised qualification.

As part of the apprenticeship, you will learn how to care for children, plan activities, liaise with parents, and maintain important records. Training is provided by a DN Colleges Group-affiliated provider, with progression opportunities after completion.

Qualifications

GCSE English grade 4 or above.
GCSE Maths grade 4 or above.
Enthusiasm for working with children.

Responsibilities

Care for and supervise children addressing physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
Plan and prepare activities with the room lead and colleagues.
Liaise with parents and set targets with effective communication.
Promote equal opportunities and prevent discrimination.
Maintain records of development and behaviour management.
Keep accident, incident and risk assessment records.
Assist with meals, babies' bottles, and nursery cleanliness.
Participate in parents' evenings, outings and staff meetings.
Perform other duties as directed by management.

Introduction

To help us with the growth of the children in the nursery, we are looking for an enthusiastic Level 3 Childcare Apprentice to join our busy team at the Wheatley site. The applicant must be passionate about working in childcare and expanding their expertise in this area while earning a recognised qualification.

What You'll Do

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

You must be able to work as part of a team and be able to care for and supervise the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs
You will work with your Room leader and colleagues to plan and prepare activities, meet children’s individual needs, liaise with parents and negotiate working targets ensuring effective communication within the nursery
Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, and cultural or linguistic background, in particular, challenges situations where racism or discrimination is displayed
You will be required to keep development records and observations of the children and offer positive management of children's behaviour
Keeping accident, incident and risk assessment records is essential
Preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the nursery and equipment is a vital part of the role as is providing a good role model for Students and helping new staff to fit into the nursery
You will be required to undertake supervision of meals and mealtimes and where appropriate preparation of babies’ bottles, laundry duties, participating in regular parents' evenings, publicity, open weekends and children's outings
Attendance of staff meetings as arranged by the Nursery Manager
Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Nursery Manager and Director

Training Outcome

On successful completion of the apprenticeship there may be an opportunity to progress to a higher apprenticeship.
