Job summary

Active Care Group’s Granville Lodge in Hartlepool is recruiting a Support Worker to provide high‑quality care for children and young people with complex needs. You will work 37.5 hours per week with rosters including days, nights & weekends, in a compact nine‑bed service set in a family‑like home.

The role focuses on safety, relationship building, and helping young people progress across daily living, with careful care planning and accurate record‑keeping.

Qualifications

• Driving licence and Diploma Level 3 (CYP) desirable.
• A genuine interest in providing person-centred care.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Experience in care sector/learning disabilities would be an advantage.
• Enhanced DBS is required.

Responsibilities

• Keep the child’s safety and well-being at the centre of your practice.
• Build positive relationships with children and young people.
• Support progress in all areas of their lives.
• Contribute to planning and delivery of child-centred care plans with other agencies.
• Maintain accurate records.
• Establish effective communication with children to reduce barriers.
• Support with mealtimes and activities of daily living.
