Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust in Erith is seeking a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant to support therapists working with children in the London Borough of Bexley referred to mainstream schools and/or SLT teams. The role involves delivering 1:1 and small group therapy, setting up face-to-face and virtual sessions, and assisting with admin tasks and resource preparation.

You will implement interventions, record notes, provide advice to colleagues, contribute to reports and programme planning,

Qualifications

• GCSEs including Maths and English
• Workshops/courses in working with young children with speech, language and communication difficulties including ASD/SLD

Responsibilities

• Implement individual and group interventions as directed by Speech and Language Therapists.
• Record activity in case notes and electronic records.
• Provide advice on intervention plans within competence.
• Contribute to reports and programme planning, considering child strengths and needs.
• Adapt practice to meet individual child and educational circumstances, including linguistic considerations.
