Job summary

Northamptonshire Children9s Trust is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Safeguarding Team based in Corby. You will complete comprehensive assessments, manage risk, and deliver interventions centred on the childs wellbeing.

Collaboration with health, education, police and partners will ensure long‑term stability for families. The role requires strong assessment, risk management and advocacy for children, with the childs voice at the heart of every decision.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
• Experience in Children7s Safeguarding or Child Protection.
• Strong assessment and risk management skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify risk, need, and vulnerability.
• Develop, implement, and review effective intervention and safeguarding plans.
• Manage and reduce risk through timely safeguarding actions and care planning.
• Provide support, guidance, and advocacy to children and families.
• Ensure the child7s voice is central to all assessments and decision‑making.
• Work collaboratively with multi‑agency professionals, including health, education, police, and safeguarding partners.
• Monitor child welfare and progress, ensuring statutory duties are met.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and high‑quality case recordings, reports, and assessments.
• Participate in strategy discussions, child protection conferences, core groups, and court proceedings where required.
• Promote the safety, wellbeing, and long‑term stability of children and young people.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures, and local authority policies.
