Job summary

CNTW NHS Foundation Trust in Newcastle and Gateshead CYPS is seeking a Band 6 Community Practitioner to co-ordinate autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people across Northumberland, working 22.5 hours per week (0.6 WTE).

The role involves working with families, schools and multi-agency partners to ensure timely, child-centred, and evidence-based care, with training, supervision and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification and current registration as RNMH/RMN/RNLD or equivalent AHP/Social Worker/Clinical Psychologist.
• Post-registration training in clinical/psychological interventions.
• Evidence of post-registration clinical experience relevant to the post.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating autism and ADHD assessments.
• Complete developmental histories, structured observations, and clinical interview.
• Collaborate within the MDT including psychology, speech therapy, social work, medics and nursing.
• Support families to understand the assessment process and next steps.
• Provide clear, compassionate communication with parents and carers.
• Participate in MDT discussions and formulation meetings.
• Contribute to service development and quality improvement.
