Your Role And Responsibilities

The Healthy Living Service works with children and young people aged 0-19 offering evidence-based support to children, young people, and their families where the child/ young person is overweight to help remove the barriers to achieving a healthy weight. As part of the Healthy Living Service, you will:

  • work alongside colleagues to provide a health screening service across Suffolk
  • be responsible for undertaking screening within schools to include growth measurements as part of the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) of children in Reception class (aged 4 to 5) and Year 6 (aged 10 to 11)
  • undertake hearing and vision screening within schools for children in Reception class (aged 4 to 5)

You will need:

  • an appropriate Level 2 qualification, or equivalent experience, or evidence of skills
  • great communication skills (written and verbal)
  • the ability to provide advice and information with clarity and impartiality to meet the needs of the recipient.
