Job summary

The London Borough of Newham is seeking Contact Supervisors to oversee and support contact sessions for children and families involved in proceedings. You will supervise and facilitate contact, ensuring sessions are safe, positive, and in line with welfare guidelines.

Candidates should have strong safeguarding knowledge, excellent communication, and the ability to handle challenging situations with empathy. This zero-hour role offers up to 20 hours per week across Monday to Saturday 10-6.

Qualifications

• Direct experience working with Children and families.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge.
• Ability to manage sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
• Experience supervising contact sessions.
• Ability to write contact reports in agreed format.

Responsibilities

• Observe and facilitate contacts between children and families.
• Manage risk and safeguard children.
• Supervise contacts within the centre, via video links and in the community.
• Write contact reports to an agreed format with observations.
• Work with social workers, families and legal professionals.
