Job summary

Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust is recruiting a Band 5 Mental Health Worker for the Ashford Community Children and Young People’s Mental Health Service (CYPMHS). The post involves caseload management under supervision, delivering evidence-based interventions, and contributing to service development within a multidisciplinary team.

Candidates should be fully registered with the appropriate body (e.g., HCPC/NMC) and hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use.

Qualifications

• Experience with difficult or challenging children/young people and complex interventions.
• Autonomous assessment and planning to determine treatment options.
• Experience working with families and carers in therapy contexts.

Responsibilities

• Manage a defined caseload under supervision within CYPMHS.
• Measure outcomes and deliver evidence-based interventions per CYP-IAPT.
• Promote mental health and well-being for children, young people and families.
• Conduct school/community-based assessments and early interventions.
• Provide a direct, accessible service in a respectful, governance-driven setting.
