Job summary

Rest Less UK is seeking a highly experienced Senior Engineering Leader to own the end-to-end technology strategy. You will report directly to the CEO, shape architecture, drive delivery, and mentor a growing engineering team while balancing reliability, security, and cost.

You will lead the cloud-native AWS stack powering Content, Travel, Jobs, and Partnerships, shaping performance reporting and customer engagement while collaborating closely with commercial and content teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience in a senior engineering role.
• Experience scaling a cloud-native platform on AWS.
• Strong ability to translate business goals into technical plans.
• Excellent communication with CEO and cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the direction: own the architecture and technical roadmap.
• Lead delivery: plan work, stay hands-on in design, code review and implementation.
• Raise the bar: set and evolve engineering standards and practices.
• Protect data quality: ensure accuracy of client reporting and data pipelines.
• Keep things running: own reliability, monitoring, on-call and incident response.
• Facilitate integration of AI: design ways tech and teams leverage AI safely.
• Spend wisely: own cloud and supplier costs and seek savings.
• Keep us secure: own security and compliance, including access management and testing.
• Manage suppliers: look after technology partners and renewals.
• Develop our engineers: mentor and hire when needed.
• Partner with the business: collaborate with CEO and teams to scope work.
