Job summary

Saab UK seeks a strategic Systems Engineering leader for the BlueBear Business Unit to define the technical vision, governance, and methodologies for the design, integration, and verification of complex aerospace and defence solutions.

You will lead and mentor engineers, drive MBSE and digital transformation, and ensure Lifecycle Management alignment with UK MoD and international partners while maintaining high standards of safety, security, and performance.

Qualifications

Demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams in defence/aerospace.
Deep knowledge of the full systems engineering lifecycle including requirements elicitation and architectural design.
Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

Set the technical direction for the systems engineering department and promote systems thinking.
Oversee Lifecycle Management activities including bids, design reviews, and audits.
Drive MBSE and digital transformation initiatives within the department.
Act as senior escalation point for complex architectural issues in a System of Systems.
Lead and mentor a team of Systems Engineers and SMEs, managing resources and succession planning.
Oversee IVVQ strategies to ensure safety, security, and performance requirements are met.
Engage internal and external stakeholders to elicit requirements and influence roadmaps.
Ensure compliance with INCOSE, ISO 15288 and internal quality policies.
