Job summary

Govia Thameslink Railway Ltd. is seeking a Director of Systems, Data & AI to set and deliver the enterprise technology strategy across the organisation. You will lead IT, data, analytics and product management to enable business objectives, resilience, customer experience and innovation.

The role oversees 24/7/365 mission-critical systems, drives data governance, AI readiness, and modernisation of platforms, while managing senior stakeholders and large budgets in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise IT, data and digital functions in a regulated environment.
• Proven track record of managing senior internal and external stakeholders including boards and government departments.
• Delivery of technology transformation initiatives (cloud migration, data platforms, AI pilots).

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise IT, data and digital functions to enable business objectives and 24/7/365 operations.
• Manage large IT budgets and cross-functional teams across infrastructure, support and innovation.
• Engage senior stakeholders including government departments and corporate boards.
• Drive technology transformation initiatives (cloud migration, ERP, AI pilots, data platform modernisation).
• Ensure cyber resilience and data governance across platforms (Azure, Power BI, Snowflake).
