Job summary

Sync-RX is seeking a GPhC-registered Chief Superintendent Pharmacist to lead clinical governance of our UK online prescribing platform. You will shape how consultations operate, decide what should be blocked or flagged, and closely collaborate with product and engineering to ensure safety is built into the software.

You will review live consultations, enforce GPhC/MHRA/CQC alignment, manage incidents, and support clinics to remain inspection-ready across the platform.

Qualifications

• GPhC registered pharmacist in good standing.
• Experience as superintendent, chief pharmacist or clinical lead in an online pharmacy or digital prescribing service.
• Deep knowledge of GLP-1 prescribing and the failure modes (weight reporting, multi-provider purchases, eating disorders, rapid dose escalation).
• Strong grasp of UK law/guidance for distance prescribing and high risk medicines.
• Comfort with data protection and clinical record keeping obligations in regulated settings.
• Ability to write clear procedures and decisions under commercial pressure.
• Comfortable reading a consultation flow and identifying software issues.

Responsibilities

• Act as superintendent pharmacist, owning clinical governance, SOPs and responsible pharmacist arrangements.
• Own clinical rules behind consultations: questions, disqualifications, flags, and required reconciliations before signing.
• Set our GLP-1 prescribing position: eligibility, BMI thresholds, contraindications, dose escalation, verification, pregnancy and contraception rules.
• Review live consultations and prescribing decisions, spotting patterns and closing gaps before regulators intervene.
• Stay ahead of rules: GPhC standards, MHRA requirements, CQC where applicable, online prescribing rules, identity checks, and GP information sharing.
• Own how we prove a prescription is genuine: prescriber verification, signing keys, e-signatures and audit trail.
• Sign off new clinical content, services and dispenser connections before go-live.
• Handle incidents, near misses, complaints and recalls, maintaining the regulator-facing register.
• Support customers: help prescribers and superintendents stay inspection-ready and addressed when regulators call.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to translate clinical risk into software behavior.
