Job summary

Norwood seeks a Head of Communications and Content to shape the organisation's narrative and strengthen its voice. You will lead digital channels, content development and storytelling to raise awareness, trust and engagement among supporters, partners and the public.

You will drive an integrated approach across PR, campaigns and publications, while using data to continually improve reach and impact and protect the organisation's reputation.

Qualifications

• Experienced communications leader who combines strategic thinking with the ability to make things happen.
• Understands how digital, content and PR can work together to create impact.
• Excellent writing and ability to adapt messages across channels while maintaining clarity and authenticity.
• Strong digital communications experience alongside media and PR with leadership to bring people together.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of Norwood's integrated communications and content strategy.
• Strengthen digital presence across website, social media and email to improve engagement.
• Develop an integrated content approach connecting digital, PR, campaigns and storytelling.
• Use data and insights to measure performance and continually improve communications.
• Lead media relations and identify opportunities to raise Norwood's profile.
• Position Norwood as a trusted voice in neurodevelopmental disability and social care.
• Lead communications around sensitive issues, including crisis communications when needed.
• Create high-quality editorial content across campaigns, impact reports and speeches.
• Collaborate with Fundraising and Services to support income generation and visibility.
• Support public affairs engagement with policymakers and sector partners.
• Guide internal communications and messaging strategy; lead the Communications & Content team.
