Job summary

Merton Council is seeking a Chief Planning Officer to lead the planning service, guiding development management, policy, enforcement and developer obligations. The role focuses on shaping major schemes and regeneration, and on ensuring the infrastructure and community benefits that growth brings.

The post serves as the principal adviser to Members and senior leaders, with responsibility for a housing programme and reform of the planning system ahead.

Chief Planning Officer heading Merton Council's planning service, which spans development management, strategic applications, policy, enforcement and developer obligations.
