Contract Type:Full Time

Location:Flexible - Home Based (ad hoc travel to offices through out the UK when required)

The RSPB is a nature conservation charity, united by a shared purpose: to protect birds, wildlife, and the habitats they depend on. They bring together people who care deeply about the natural world and who want to take action to restore the health and diversity of the natural world.

The RSPB believes that a healthy, thriving planet is essential for the wellbeing of all people and all species. And at the heart of that belief is a commitment to their people.

About the Role

The Chief People Officer leads the development of the people elements of the RSPB’s strategic outcomes and supports the overall delivery of the RSPB's core objectives, ensuring that they are delivered by motivated and appropriately skilled workforce who are supported by effective people policies, procedures and best practice and are demonstrating the four RSPB Values of Courage, Connection, Collaboration and Clarity.

The Chief People Officer acts as an innovative, solution focused leader, capable of motivating the People Team to achieve the best possible outcomes for the organisation. They ensure that the People Team is ‘customer focused’ and will proactively engage with colleagues across all directorates of the organisation so that they work collaboratively to determine and address current and future people needs.

The Chief People Officer will ensure that the organisation is working at its optimum structurally with the right people in the right place at the right time with the right skills through a process of workforce planning.

WhatWe’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have an understanding of organisational change, be aware of emerging employment legislation, and be comfortable navigating workplace challenges.

The role requires someone who can lead in implementing equity, diversity, and inclusion principles, serve as a positive role model for staff, manage workplace and societal changes, and offer fresh ideas for the organisation's people strategy.
