Valere Capital is a rapidly growing firm that provides subject matter experts to support commercial disputes, regulatory investigations, arbitrations, and criminal cases across the globe. Our clients include law firms, corporations, regulators, and public bodies who require precision, credibility, and deep technical insight.

As we scale our operations and expand our global footprint, we are seeking a highly capable Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee and optimise our operational infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to join an ambitious and mission-driven team at a pivotal point in our growth journey.

Job Purpose

The COO will play a critical leadership role in the company, working closely with the Principals and wider team to deliver on strategic objectives. This role requires a hands-on, forward-thinking individual who can enhance business performance, streamline operations, and ensure that Valere Capital continues to deliver high standards of excellence as we scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Principals to define, document, and implement the long-term strategic direction of the business.
• Develop and oversee the corporate structure, including governance and legal frameworks.
• Convene and chair board meetings, ensuring clear communication and progress tracking.
• Lead the financial operations of the business, including accounting oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and ensure insight into business operations and control environments.
• Standardise and enhance internal processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Develop and improve internal reporting (MI) and evaluate upgrades to IT systems, including integration of AI tools where appropriate.
• Design and embed governance, compliance, and operational risk controls across the organisation.
• Continuously review and improve the operational effectiveness of the business.
• Champion a culture of excellence in operational delivery, customer experience, and compliance.

About you

• Proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer or Director of Operations, ideally within a professional services, consulting, or legal environment.
• Demonstrated success in executing strategic plans and driving operational effectiveness.
• Experience implementing and managing information and operational systems.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, influence, and align cross-functional teams.
• Track record of enhancing efficiency, introducing scalable systems, and building high-performing teams.
• High standards of professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
• Accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is desirable but not essential.

Please note we will require the COO to be office a minimum of 3 days a week to start with potentially more as the need for the business develops. Working hours will be 9-6pm.
