Job summary

Brooklands Museum is seeking an exceptional Head of Operations to lead the daily visitor-facing operation. You will ensure safety, welcome, accessibility and presentation while coordinating the Operations team and contracted services across Brooklands.

You will drive improvements for busy events and peak periods, enhance visitor experience and accessibility, and use feedback to make practical operational improvements. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role.

Qualifications

• Experience leading visitor-facing operations and duty management.
• Proven ability to manage staff, volunteers and contractors.
• Strong operational planning, staffing and visitor flow skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety, risk assessment and emergency procedures.
• Experience planning for busy periods, events or complex public activity.
• Ability to improve visitor experience and accessibility.
• Use feedback and data to drive practical improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily visitor-facing operation of Brooklands Museum, ensuring safety, welcome, accessibility and presentation.
• Coordinate Operations team, volunteer deployment and contracted services across Brooklands.
• Play a key role in major events, premium experiences and public programmes.
• Set clear standards and maintain calm when circumstances change.
• Collaborate with teams to deliver consistently excellent visitor experiences.
